ABSTRACT

Man or the Woman is one who sees further than the others because he or she stands on the shoulders of the others.

For me those few days together with these skillful practitioners of deconstruction through languaging in psychotherapy were the death of the Believer and the birth of the Seer. And what does this mean? Well, a certain therapy approach and its theory-whatever it might be-can make one a Believer, justify one’s beliefs and conception of the world, and give a home to a lonely and separated therapist ego. Doing so gives protection and safety and a possibility to identify with something larger in order to create meaning in our lives as therapists. But the experiences that give birth to the Seer are also the ones that push you to emptiness, breaking, destroying, and transforming one’s world of meaning in a thorough way. After that, the world is not the same place anymore: You can see dierently.
