ABSTRACT

To set the stage for this discussion of the world of the “learning disabled” college student, I believe that the oxymoronic flavor of this term should be dispelled. Instead of thinking of this highly diverse student population as one that is unable to learn, it seems more appropriate to think of it as having certain glitches in processing information which may cause a variety of academic difficulties. Yet, those who get to college are terrific learners. Therefore, it is worthwhile for colleges and universities to actively address this issue.
