ABSTRACT
In July 2009, in the response to the banking and financial crisis of 2007/2008, the OECD Local Economic and Employment Development (LEED) Programme published Recession, Recovery and Reinvestment: The Role of Local Economic Leadership (OECD 2009). The purpose of this paper was to provide rapid intelligence on responses crafted by local leaders from around the world to prevent, mitigate and even capitalise on the impacts of the economic crisis in cities.
