ABSTRACT
In this chapter I will describe the role of the adult, briefly discuss risk assessment and look at fluctuating pupil numbers.Two areas of the environment are described: the sand area indoors and physical challenge outdoors. Apart from activities related to the snow, the diary also includes the introduction of some more formal phonics teaching as well as some ambitious child-initiated learning.
