ABSTRACT

The human cerebellum is about one quarter of the mass of the brain and is divided into three lobes, the anterior lobe and posterior lobe, separated by the primary fissure, and the flocculonodular lobe, separated from the posterior lobe by the posterolateral fissure (Figure 1). The lobes are further subdivided into lobules which are differently named in humans and other mammals. Longitudinally the cerebellum has a central vermis and two lateral hemispheres.
