ABSTRACT

A conference, early 1995. The subject of my paper: “Race and Ethnicity in the Classroom.” Now, I am to write a new version, almost a year (and several battle-scarred stories later). I wonder how I can “show” the disjunctions and conjunctions of thought over time and space and experience. I decide to use italics for what I write now, plain type for what I wrote and said back then, when things seemed a little plainer.
