ABSTRACT

The television set, as we know it today, is an instrument basically unchanged in physical design for over a quarter of a century. Thus, “an entire generation brought up on TV,” as they say, has been brought up on a particular type of TV set, a type which now technically obsolete can be replaced by something quite superior, but let us just say by something quite different. Suppose this does happen, and it may, what about the newer generations brought up on that different TV? Will it make a difference in personality and behavior, and if so, how and why?
