ABSTRACT
These central issues included the nature of American power and imperialism, the nature of social oppression and violence, and the effects these had on American’s sexual mores. The social movements of the 1960s argued that America’s existing institutions were corrupt and sought to revolutionize Amer ica’s central values and structures.
