ABSTRACT

The incorporation of communication technology into instruction presents communication educators with issues and opportunities different in kind from those faced by instructors in other fields. Communication educators share with other educators a wish to use new technology appropriately and well. But in consequence of the special disciplinary significance of communication technology, we also often have the opportunity to make it do double duty in our classes, first as a solution to a teaching dilemma and then, beyond that, as an opportunity to stimulate reflection on the malleability of the communication process.
