ABSTRACT
There is no need to ask whether a teacher has goals. If, as philosophers tell us, any complex human activity presupposes a telos, some direction or end toward which it strives, then certainly all teaching reflects an underlying purpose. All teachers have goals, but all are not equally aware of their goals or equally able to articulate them.
