ABSTRACT
To write about methodology of suspense without referring to at least one theory would presumably result in very general statements. I would have to inspect several related theories with the objective of detecting associations between the concepts discussed and the idea of suspense (perhaps these associations would not contain much more than what can be read in general textbooks on methodology). Fortunately, I found more than associations and therefore happily believed that I should not content myself with Alfred Hitchcock's frequently cited phrase: "The trouble with suspense is that few people know what it is."
