ABSTRACT
This chapter continues the discussion of press coverage of presidential election campaigns by focusing on the biases, structure, and complexities of campaign news. The first part of the chapter discusses popular criticisms of the news. The second and third sections describe the structure of presidential news coverage, and the final section looks at controversies and complications in current scholarship on the press and the presidential campaign.
