ABSTRACT

How are the decisions made by a qualitative researcher different than the decisions that a quantitative researcher makes? This chapter answers that question by representing a contrast with the previous chapter. Both this and the previous chapter are similar in form; that is, both illuminate the decisions that were made in the design and execution of a research study designed to examine the qualitative literature. However, the study illuminated in chapter 13 took a quantitative approach and the study in this chapter took a qualitative approach.
