ABSTRACT

Now that we have examined the nature of the evidence in chapter 6, it becomes important to deal with the topic of how to gather the required evidence. This too is a complex topic that raises several issues. In this chapter, we examine six of those issues: types of evidence-gathering methods, researcher identification, researcher activity, selection of samples, collaboration in data gathering, and length of data gathering (see Table 7.1 for a breakdown of these six issues).
