ABSTRACT

Television news anchor and reporter Giselle Fernandez became a homeless person to find out what it was like to live on the streets. Fernandez worked for WCIX-TV, Channel 6, the CBS owned-and-operated station in south Florida, when she did the undercover work for a five-part series on people who live on the streets of downtown Miami. For a part of her series, she spent 24 hours under an interstate highway overpass dressed as a homeless person.
