ABSTRACT

In this chapter several alternative sets of policy rules will be presented. One of these sets - the one discussed in Section 5 - is the policy that was used for 'rerunning history', which has already been extensively discussed in Chapter VII. The other rules are included here to give some indication of how the recommended design evolved. The chapter contains an extensive discussion of the dynamic properties - both time-response and frequency-response characteristics - obtained with our model, and is therefore somewhat tedious. But this discussion will allow the reader to gain an insight into the conflicts that exist between the various desirable properties that an ideal policy might possess.
