ABSTRACT

A daily security plan is not something we consciously think about all the time, but it is an essential part of what we do every day. Whether you are heading out to work or taking the kids to school, you implement a daily security plan. Your personal security plan is all about keeping you and your family safe and secure. One’s daily security plan might begin with making sure all the doors and windows are locked and turning on your home alarm system as you get ready to leave the house. Then, taking in a general view of your home and its landscape to make sure everything is in the right place. If children are included in your daily security plan, your plan might include organizing your schedule so that you can confirm they made it on to the school bus, verifying they have a communication device so they can reach you in case of an emergency, and providing them with a code word that they will need to say to a teacher if they are leaving school with an adult. As you get into your car to drive to work, you will lock the car doors, check to make sure your car is in working order, and take a look in the rearview mirror to confirm no one is behind the car as you back out of the driveway.
