ABSTRACT
Since the beginning of human history, people have been using a variety of materials to help them in their daily lives. As technology progressed, the materials became more sophisticated, from the stone tools of the neolithic people to the metal weapons of bronze and iron age people. In general, materials were used to make objects with specific purposes – sharp bone needles for sewing, wooden rollers and wheels for transport, golden ornaments for decoration – all designed to improve the quality of life in the period concerned.
