ABSTRACT
Immanuel Kant describes his approach as a ‘Copernican Revolution’ in philosophy. Copernicus put forward the theory that the earth moves round the sun rather than vice versa. Kant’s revolutionary idea is that the world that we inhabit and perceive depends on qualities of the perceiver’s mind, rather than simply existing independently of us.
