ABSTRACT

During the past two years I have been involved in working on intervention programmes and supporting 27 dyspraxic adults. The group comprised 14 males and 13 females. Initially 43 adults were referred via local colleges, universities, GPs, parents or themselves. Following a detailed assessment, those presenting characteristics associated with developmental dyspraxia were invited to take part in the study. The resulting 27, aged between 16 and 31, agreed to attend six weekly sessions which were followed up at monthly intervals for a period of twelve months to monitor home-based intervention programmes.
