ABSTRACT

Gardano’s printed editions from the fifties frequently survive in anthologies, or “binder’s copies” (as they are often called), of two or more prints bound together by the person or institution that collected them. Some of these binder’s copies—namely those containing prints from the first decade of Gardano’s publishing career—have already been described in vol. I. 1 This chapter describes those additional binder’s copies whose earliest editions by Gardano date from the 1550s.
