ABSTRACT
If the preceding reflections had to be expressed in a single message, it would be that the idea of happiness can provide orientation for societies which know how to do almost everything, but have lost the sense of direction that helps them understand what they should want to do. Apparently, economic growth and technological progress do not automatically mean good development.
