ABSTRACT
In this chapter the reorganisation and the performance of the armed forces will be examined. In the discussion of the purge of the armed forces, references were made to the changing attitude of the new regime forced upon it by the three interrelated phenomena of leftist agitation, domestic rebellions and Iraq’s invasion.
