ABSTRACT
Reputable community and online resources provide invaluable information and connections for students, parents, and educators. National agencies provide online and/or local community support to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ) youth, parents of LGBTQ youth, parents who are LGBTQ and their children, and educators seeking to create safe and welcoming schools for all students and families. Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network’s mission is to ensure that LGBTQ students are valued and respected in the school community by providing resources and training for educators, policy makers, students, and community leaders. Children of Lesbians and Gays Everywhere (COLAGE) is an organization created by and designed to support children and adults with parents who are LGBTQ. The mission of COLAGE is to create a world in which all kinds of families are valued and appreciated. The mission of Human Rights Campaign organization is to advocate for equal rights for all people, including LGBTQ individuals.
