ABSTRACT

Three persons who interact may find themselves in situations in which they must communicate, negotiate, and make a decision which produces some outcome; this outcome may yield some quantifiable reward or payoff to the group of three, and the members of the group must then divide this payoff. Many situations of this kind exist: three business concerns may collude to limit their production and divide a particular market; three partners in a business firm may divide the work load, income, and profits; and three nations may divide the costs of a military facility.
