ABSTRACT

Planning helps teachers organize what they will teach, and what they will help their students learn, during the school year, the semester, the unit, and the daily lesson. Planning also helps teachers organize and structure the school day so that student learning is maximized. We believe that many classroom management and discipline problems can be avoided if the teacher is organized and a strong planner. If you have a clear idea of what you intend for students to learn, not only during that day’s lesson but for the coming weeks, then you will be in a good position to address student concerns about the content, and have a better understanding of your expectations for student learning.
