ABSTRACT

The purpose of all teaching materials and activities is to address the learning objectives of the course and the curriculum of language study. Although some teachers undertake the development of instructional materials from start to finish, it is extremely laborious and time-consuming. For this reason, teachers rarely create materials for an entire course. In a vast majority of teaching contexts, some sort of commercially produced textbooks are adopted, including locally assembled sets of pre-selected materials (aka course packs ).
