ABSTRACT

This chapter presents a set of specific teaching techniques that have proven to be highly effective for L2 writing and in some cases even for writing in L1. Teaching learners how to organize discourse and ideas in L2 writing represents one of the major areas that specifically require additional attention throughout the L2 writing curriculum. As was discussed in chapters 2 and 3 , a great number of studies have noted that intensive and extensive instruction is required in teaching discourse organization in Anglo-American academic writing.
