ABSTRACT
The text makes other efforts to ensure that we understand that the holy site is heaven. The river that waters it is the Ganga, the river of heaven, and again and again we are told that the holy site is heaven on earth:
mama sthanam param viddhi martyaloke hyanuttamam bhaumasvargam idam samyak pravadanti manf~i1Ja~ II 14.8
Know this to be my most important and sacred abode here on earth. The wise call this place 'Heaven on Earth'.
