ABSTRACT
Examining the conditions and the aspirations of the youth in the occupied Palestinian territories is essential, not only as the youth represent approximately one-third of the population of the OPT (32 per cent at the end of 2000), but also because the youth are the social group most heavily affected by the current changes impacting Palestinian society, whether of a positive or negative nature (Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, PCBS, 2001: 13).
