ABSTRACT
Conclusion We started out with a problem, or perhaps more accurately a series of problems that arose out of attempts to understand what is happening to religion in the second half of the twentieth century. Our explanation took us via myth and legend into social-scientific studies of religion, in the course of which we followed a number of paths which converge on to the pivotal concept of religious creativity.
