ABSTRACT

Sometimes the employee benefi ts from workplace mentoring, for instance in cases where an employer can only see poor workplace performance and assumes the employee has a bad attitude or is intentionally being diffi cult. Here, the employee-perhaps in company with a supportive othermay be able to outline for the employer the behaviour that is part of their illness, and map out suggestions about what they are able to do to improve the situation and what might be able to be changed in the workplace to help them manage better.
