ABSTRACT

The 2010 Edition of Approved Document G has undergone significant changes to take account of additional requirements going beyond the original heading of hygiene. Requirement G1 first deals with cold water supply including the need for wholesome water for drinking, food preparation and washing. To ensure compliance with Regulation 36, Water Efficiency in New Dwellings, Requirement G2 has been added. Requirement G3 relates to heated wholesome water, including hot water storage, G4 and G5 to sanitary accommodation, washing facilities and bathrooms with G6 added to cover kitchen and food preparation areas.
