1. Admit it is a problem. As we have discovered in these questions and stories, rape affects a large group of women in our society. These women are our friends, our colleagues, our bosses, our mothers, our wives, and our daughters. Realizing how rape and sexual assault disrupt our lives can be the first step in motivating ourselves to do something about the problem.
