ABSTRACT

The Hungarian study region is County Bács-Kiskun, one of the 20 NUTS III regions in Hungary. This is the largest county in Hungary, occupying almost nine per cent of the total area. Forming a part of the Great Plain, it is a classical agricultural area with large amounts of arable land and considerable crop specialisation. There are a relatively large number of agricultural entrepreneurs resulting in a relatively high income compared to other counties (Ferenczi and Miklóssy, 2007).
