ABSTRACT

Never in the history of school counseling have our student populations been more lusciously diverse than they are at the present time. Multilingual, multiethnic, and multicultural students are expected to become the majority by the close of the next decade (Holcomb-McCoy, 2004). In order to continue to practice effectively, professionally, and ethically, school counselors must be culturally competent with a sound commitment to understanding how unique student characteristics impact learning and educational experiences.
