ABSTRACT

After the transfer of power from Iosif Stalin to Nikita Khrushchev, political life in the USSR was characterized by a change in the model of government. Instead of the country’s leader personally guiding an important group of top managers, by the late 1950s there would take place a distribution of political power among several big clans.
