ABSTRACT
As a violent activity by definition, terrorism involves the use of force through various types of violent means to pursue an ideological agenda. This essay will discuss the scope of terrorist tactics and the technologies as they have been used throughout history. Each tactic profile will provide a brief overview of the history and evolution of the particular terrorist tactic, the technology involved, as well as the identification of terrorist organizations among which the given tactic has been strikingly popular. Each section will also analyse the advantages that make a certain tactic or weapon attractive to the given organization.
