ABSTRACT
Search-and-rescue dog teams have been working for many years in crisis and disaster situations all over the world. They assist in the recovery of lost persons and even bodies. These brave and dedicated animals risk their own lives working long hours in all types of weather, terrain, and dangerous environments to provide a valuable service to the human community. The success of search-and-rescue dogs has more than proven the ability of dogs to provide invaluable aid in the face of tragedy.
