These points underscored, there is little doubt though that Iran's domestic system of production and exchange has undergone some appreciable changes since 1979 (the nationalization of almost all of the country's modem industrial units and financial sector, implementation of the Islamic banking system and so on) and, by the same token, so too has the country's foreign economic relations. The pertinent question, however, is in what ways?
