ABSTRACT

WE ARE BETTER ABLE to follow what is going on in Thrones if we know something about the eighty or more unsigned or pseudonymous items which Pound contributed to the New Times, Melbourne, from late 1955 until early 1957. They range from a few lines each to more than a thousand words. Of little or no interest in themselves they are nevertheless invaluable when it comes to understanding the working of the poet’s mind in this last section.
