ABSTRACT
Until the passing of the Equality Act 2010, there were a myriad of Acts and regulations affording protection from discrimination. All of these have now been repealed and placed under one Act. The Act, in s 4, lists the protected characteristics. These are:
v age; v disability; v marriage and civil partnership; v pregnancy and maternity; v race; v religion or belief; v sex; v sexual orientation.
