ABSTRACT
The district of Tank, although technically a portion of British India, is still not British territory in that strict sense in which the remaining portion of the Derajat frontier is so, and the raid directed against it has consequently in the eyes of the native population, a less decided appearance of studied insult to the British Government than if made on any other part of the border.
