ABSTRACT

In the introductory chapter we described the burgeoning interest in creativity and innovation, the concept of the creative knowledge economy and the interest of governments and other institutions in fostering innovation. In this final chapter we do three things: first, revisit the main themes in the book; second, summarise ideas relevant to policy implications and recommendations; third, offer a message about understanding the sometimes unforeseen impacts of technological and social innovation (see also Mann, Chapter 15, this volume, on other ideas relevant to policy).
