ABSTRACT
Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist when he grows up. Pablo Picasso
For more than four decades, art education in the United States has gone through several paradigm shifts ranging from creative self-expression movement, the discipline oriented movement, and lately the visual culture movement, which (possibly) is still in process (Tavin, 2010), and may have affected children’s art education. Presently both art and early childhood educators are suggesting that art be integrated into children’s play.
