ABSTRACT

The beliefs, objects and methods of the Unclaimed Wealth Utilization Committee The Committee believes that unemployed labour, unemployed capital equipment and unemployed surplus stocks of goods constitute Unclaimed Wealth; that the present world-wide depression of industry and trade, and major fl uctuations in industry and trade in general, are by no means due to essentially economic or monetary causes, i.e., to defi ciencies in the world’s resources in labour, materials and money, or to incapacity of the productive system to expand with regularity, but rather to the general failure of statesmen to understand and act in harmony with the system; and observes that, thus, progress in the arts or methods of production is being nullifi ed or is causing economic chaos. The objects of the Committee are as follows:—

1. To promote the full and rational utilization of all unemployed labour. 2. To promote the full and rational utilization by labour of as much capital

equipment as possible, both to raise the standard of living and to provide the means of useful and profi table investment of an appropriate quantity of savings.
