ABSTRACT

In the spring of 1934 the family spent a great deal of time in Hongqiao. Vilhelm would drive to town every day and Kirsten was busy making arrangements to plant the numerous flowers, bushes and trees that had arrived from Denmark. The beautiful Poulsen roses thrived in the new surroundings. The house was now complete. There were ducks and geese in the yard, and Chinese carp were released in the lake.
