ABSTRACT
This study indicates that UAE folklore is rich, colourful and diverse. It is also deeply rooted in history. Arab culture and Islamic civilization constitute the basic core and the fulcrum around which UAE traditional heritage revolves. In this respect, both oral folk culture and classical Arabic literature provide significant cultural traits in various folklore genres and domains. Likewise, Islamic doctrines, beliefs and morals represent the basic foundations, spiritual forces and didactic messages behind the artistic creativity and traditional heritage of the UAE.
