ABSTRACT
Parker and Emily started seeing each other when they met in a drug treatment program. Soon, Emily, who was 19 at the time, found out she was pregnant, so she moved in with Parker. They went into debt as Emily decided that they needed to give their new baby everything that she didn’t have growing up. Her hasty purchases included a couple of cribs and lots of new baby clothes. After their baby boy, Michael, was born, Emily continued to buy clothes and toys, pushing them farther into debt.
