ABSTRACT
If you were to think of mathematics and science as sibling subjects, then mathematics and technology would be close cousins. Although different secondary schools focus on different strands of technology in their provision, in every strand pupils work to combine theoretical ideas with creative thinking and practical skills to design and produce products. Mathematics serves as a vital part of this process, providing a language and means with which pupils can learn about and explore underlying structures and relationships in the physical world.
